Critically examine the competencies required by HR professionals whether in a personal capacity or when collaborating and working with others in order to add value to an organization. Building on this examination, reflect on your
professional development throughout the past year in order to highlight
personal strengths and areas for development, while also offer specific
recommendations to enhance key areas in the future.
This essay is comprised of two main parts:
a) A critical examination of literature and practice regarding the competencies HR professionals need to have in order to add value
to the organisation Learning outcomes and assessment criteria:
1. Critically examine the different ways of delivering HR objectives in different
organisations.
2. Examine how the HR function can be evaluated in terms of value added and
contribution to sustained organisational performance.
3. Critically explain the knowledge, skills and behaviours to be an effective and
efficient, self
managing HR professional
as set out in the
CIPD HR Profession Map.
4. Critically assess personal strengths and develop a Continuous Professional
Development plan.
5. To conduct small scale HR research by identifying and scrutinising appropriate
HR data sources; analyse the fi
ndings to draw meaningful conclusions and evaluate
options for change and deliver a clear, business
focussed report.
